It comes with low, medium, and high settings on a digital steam control and some attachments.

There is nothing negative that can be said about the Bissell PowerFresh Steam Mop. If you’re looking to get your hands on a simple, straightforward steam mop, then this might be the one for you. It even comes at a reasonable price.

The Bissell is an all-around, well-balanced product. It comes with a 23-foot power cord, making it extremely useful in moving around the house. That extra length means it’s less likely to snag on corners and toys left lying around.

For an upright steam mop, the Bissell PowerFresh comes in a nice, compact size. At 46 inches tall, and 11 inches wide, you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a place to store your mop.

One thing the Bissell does not come with, however, is a tray for when you store your mop. Having a tray to pop your mop into after a long session of cleaning is a very nice option. You don’t want to have to deal with a stain or puddle caused by the very thing you bought to clean them up with.

This isn’t a major problem, of course, and it could be solved by just taking a few extra seconds to fix after a cleaning session. But there are other steam cleaners that come with such a tray, so it’s definitely an oversight by Bissell.

Overall, I would have to recommend the Bissell PowerFresh Steam Mop. If you’re looking for a durable, hardworking steam mop then this could be the one for you.

Dupray Neat Steam Cleaner

The Dupray Neat Steam Cleaner is probably one of the oddest-looking products on the internet today. You’d be understood for asking it to “dim the lights” or to play your favorite song. The Dupray really does look as if it would fit right in at the next Apple release.

Beyond all that, the Dupray Neat Steam Cleaner is one of the best cylinder steam cleaners out there. With a  1.6l water tank and a super-hot steam temperature of 135°C, this steam cleaner makes short work of any stains.

Due to its large volume water tank, it does have a long waiting time. This means that you will be able to clean for long periods. But, it also means that you will be waiting a lot longer in between cleaning sessions.

The Dupray comes with a nice variety of add-ons ranging from brushes to microfiber cloths. A great option with this cleaner is the ability to use any old cloth. There is no need for any special microfiber cloths or squeegees. Once you can find a cloth to fit the end, you should be good to go. If it was me, I wouldn’t use a new one.

The Dupray claims that it can be used pretty much everywhere. It comes with a retractable handle and wheels, so you can be sure it’s portable. It might look like the next step in human evolution, but once you get past that it’s a very useful steamer.

While many other steamers come with many levels of steam cleaning, the Dupray only has one. In general, it seems to be an efficient choice, and I haven’t been able to find any complaints about its power or durability. This does present a lack of variety though.

This does lead to another problem, however. The Dupray doesn’t have any water level indicator. This seems to have been a design choice to keep it as stylish as possible, but it does leave you guessing at how full it is.

The Dupray Neat Steam Cleaner is one of the more stylish cylinder steamers out there. It provides a great clean and a huge tank, making it great for long cleaning sessions. It’s a small, compact machine and can be easily stored and moved.

McCulloch MC1385 Deluxe Canister Steam System

Considered to be one of McCulloch’s best steamers, the MC1385 is one of the better steamers on the market. First of all though, the McCulloch is not a small machine. You might find it difficult to store or move around when compared to other steamers. 

It is a multi-purpose steamer. This means that it is meant to be used on a wide variety of surfaces. The MC1358 can be used on windows, mirrors, carpets, and whatever else you might think of. I find that a good use for my multi-purpose cleaner is for cleaning my furniture. It’s not something I’d like to try with a steam mop, that’s for sure.

This is thanks to its long hose and the large number of attachments that comes with the McCulloch. From brushes to bristles and mops,  the McCulloch has you covered. 

It has to be said that the McCulloch isn’t the cheapest of options. It is often reviewed and fairly well regarded, but it is not the cheapest. It comes with a nicely sized 64 oz water tank. McCulloch claims you can get 120 minutes of continuous cleaning per session.. There is no water indicator, however, which means there’s no way to tell when it’s getting empty.

The heating time is pretty standard at around 12 minutes. But with the large water tank, you won’t have to continuously refill the tank.

One thing that makes the McCulloch MC1358 worth the price is the 2-year warranty that comes with it. There have been complaints about poor build quality and the use of plastic when it comes to the MC1358, so this is a must.

If you’re looking for a steam cleaner that can suit many different purposes, this might be the one for you. Whether you’re just looking to clean the floor or steam up the windows, the MC1358 can provide the solution. Its wide variety of add-ons allows you to clean almost anything.

With its large water tank and 120-minute duration of steam, the McCulloch is a great tool for a long cleaning session.

Bissell Steam Shot

The Bissell Steam shot handheld steam cleaner is a powerful, portable steamer. It has all the advantages of a small steam cleaner, coupled with enough power to dislodge any stains or dirt. Bissell claims that the unit generates 4.5 bars of pressure, generated by 1000 watts of energy.

The Bissell also comes with a nice selection of attachments, for a handheld steamer. Sometimes with these smaller steamers, you are left to buy your own add-ons. But in this case, they are helpfully provided by Bissell.

Scraping tools, an extension hose, window squeegees, and more, the Steam Shot comes with enough attachments to cover your every need. Thanks to the Bissell’s small size, you won’t have any problems storing it either.

The water tank on this unit is tiny. Just 6.6 ounces of water, so you’ll only get short bursts out of this machine. Its compact and kettle-like shape means that it can be uncomfortable to use for long periods. Just like you wouldn’t want to be carrying around a kettle for any amount of time, you won’t want to carry this around either.

It’s also a pretty heavy steamer for its size. As the water tank is so small, we can assume that the weight is coming from the battery. So make sure that you wouldn’t be using the Steam Shot for too long, or you’ll run out of both water and energy.

If you’re looking for a small, powerful handheld steam cleaner,  then this might be the one for you. With a wide range of attachments and a tiny water tank, the Steam Shot takes its wins with its losses. Due to its power, however, the Bissell should be able to take care of any problems you might come across.  Just make sure you have strong arms!

One thing to remember is that they can be very difficult to use on countertops. Or on anything above floor level. And I can’t recommend lifting one above your head either.

The very best thing, of course, is that they only need water to work. They have decent-sized tanks, and they are pretty easy to fill up. No chemicals, and a great finish.

Cylinder Steamers

Cylinder steam cleaners are sturdy, very maneuverable steamers. They are made up of two sections; a hose-like nozzle, and the main steam generator and water storage unit. They are quite large, however, which can make storing them an issue.

Cylinder steamers can come with massive water tanks and will often last longer than any other steamer. This makes them ideal for long cleaning operations if you don’t feel like refilling your steamer too much. Their nozzle is very flexible and comes attached to a hose for added length. The steam generator and water storage unit is on wheels, and of course, is covered by casing.

These steamers often come with lots and lots of attachments, which enable you to use them on all sorts of surfaces.  Thanks to their long hose, cylinder steamers can be used on countertops, windows, and carpets all to your hearts’ delight.

Prices can reach pretty astronomical heights for cylinder steamers, but good deals can be found. They are generally more expensive than both the steam mops and the more portable handheld cleaners.

Handheld Cleaners

Does exactly what it says on the box. Useful for cleaning small areas, extremely portable, and has a small water tank.

They are very handy if you want to do a quick bit of cleaning. Due to their compact size, they are very easily stored, moved, and handled. This makes them easy to use in hard-to-reach places such as windows, countertops, and all sorts of nooks and crannies. 

These, like every other steamer, can come with a huge number of attachments such as nozzles, mini-mops, and larger tanks.

They also tend to be cheaper. What they won’t do, however, is provide the same level of cleaning as their larger cousins. Nor will you be able to use them for the same amount of time due to their smaller water tanks.

Vapor Steam Cleaners

The vapor steam cleaner is very similar to the cylinder cleaner. It has all the benefits of the cylinder and is generally the same size and shape.

What a vapor steam cleaner does better, however, is clean. It delivers a so-called ‘dry’ clean. That means that it uses such high levels of heat, that the steam leaves no dampness or moisture behind it.

 This results in a better overall clean, and of course, you no longer have to wait for your floors to dry.

The price of a vapor steam cleaner can be anywhere from a few hundred dollars up to a few thousand dollars. So make sure you choose wisely if you go down this route, as it can be quite a big investment to make. They are very highly regarded as steam cleaners.

While they come with all the benefits of the cylinder steam cleaner, they also come with the negatives. Beyond the hefty price tag, they can be quite a bother to store due to their size. 

Obviously, you’ll want to take extra care of your vapor steamer if you’ve just spent a large amount of money on it, so make sure you have a safe place to put it too.

Multi-Purpose Steam Cleaners

Multi-purpose steam cleaners are becoming a bigger and bigger hit with homeowners as the years go by. In contrast to the steam mops and cylinder cleaners, they keep the area you are cleaning dry. This means that there is no moisture or dampness left behind, and you don’t have to wait for the area to dry before using it again.

Using the same method as the vapor steam cleaner, the steam used is extremely hot and boils away to nothing when used.

They have a medium-sized tank and can be used for pretty much anything you can think of. They have a very short start-up time and they use water extremely efficiently.

They are definitely one of the more efficient steamers out there. They are, however, something of a jack of all trades. They lack specialization and have a wide range of uses.

If you’re looking for something more specialized,  then this kind of cleaner might not be up to the task.

There is a huge number of attachments that can be bought for your steam cleaner. They allow you to use your steamer for every job, on almost any surface. A lot of steam cleaners come with attachments included, but you can also buy kits and separate items.

Cloths or Squeegees

Most steamers come with this attachment. A simple cloth or squeegee can be attached to the end of your steamer which allows you to use it on windows, shower doors, and mirrors.

Replacement parts for these are very easy to pick up, and they provide a great clean for your glass. What’s more is that you can use them without the steam cleaner, if you should need to.

After all, a cloths a cloth.

Grout Cleaning Nozzle

For getting into the narrow spaces in between your tiles, you can use a specialized narrow nozzle. These are specifically made to clean up your grout, but I’m sure you can think of a thousand other ways to use it too.
