What’s the Best Mattress Vacuum Cleaner?

In my experience, remembering to clean your mattress is one of the hardest things to do. I know that I make my bed every day, sweep the floors, and clean up any trash. But clean the mattress? Not an everyday task. Yet, cleaning your mattress is one of the most important cleaning jobs you can do, and using a vacuum is a great way of doing it.

What are the best mattress vacuum cleaners? I’ve gone through quite a lot of these in my time, so I’ve done the research. A good mattress cleaner can actually improve your health.  And save you from a (frankly astonishing) number of things that live on your mattress.

Not that any of these things are very dangerous, but they sound like they would be better off somewhere else. Anywhere but on my mattress, that is for sure.

Black and DeckerB00IOEFBKS 20v Max Handheld Vacuum, Cordless.

BLACK+DECKER 20V Max Handheld Vacuum, Cordless, Grey (BDH2000PL)

Black and Decker offers a long list of handheld vacuum cleaners to choose from. They offer some of the most powerful ones on the market. And if you’ve ever been stuck hoovering the same spot for five minutes, then you know how important that is.

This Black and Decker comes in both corded and cordless varieties. I prefer the Cordless one because you don’t have to worry about finding a socket or messing with wires.

It is a little on the heavy side, so make sure you won’t need to use it for long periods.

This model has a pretty reasonable 20v battery, which you won’t find too often at this price range. It’s got a nicely sized dirt bowl at 20.6 ounces, with a filter that you can wash.

Some reviews say that this model can be a bit loud at times, so be sure to keep that in mind.

Pros
  • Decent battery
  • Powerful

Cons
  • Might be too loud
  • Heavy

The Black and Decker 20v Max Handheld Vacuum is a very reasonable handheld cleaner. A strong suction means maximum efficiency when cleaning your mattress.

Its high capacity also allows you to clean for longer. You might not want to start hoovering in the middle of the night because of the noise, but otherwise, you should be fine.

Here’s a link if you want to check it out.

Ultramite UV HEPA Allergen Vacuum

LivePure Ultramite UVC HEPA Allergen Vacuum & Fabric Sanitizer Effectively Removes Dust Mites, Bacteria, Viruses on Bedding, Mattress, Furniture, Upholstery, White

If you have had any allergies to deal with these last few years then you’ll have actually heard of Ultramite. The Ultramite UV is designed to suck up and kill off all those dust mites and allergens.

It comes highly recommended by doctors. In fact, if you’ve been to a doctor about allergies they might have even told you to get one!

That is because it is very effective at sucking up these sorts of things. It comes with a UV lamp, a covered rolling brush, and a HEPA filter.

These three things, combined with a vibrating pad, make short work of any dust that lives on your mattress.

The product itself has lots of helpful design features: 3 modes to choose from, an extendable hose, and dual motors. Those motors pack a punch at 650 watts, so you won’t be worrying about dust or pollen anytime soon.

Now, this is a pretty specialized hoover. Unlike many other hoovers, it is made for an actual purpose. So I wouldn’t recommend using this for everyday messes. Use it for its intended purpose, and there should be no problems.

Pros
  • Very effective at getting rid of pollen/bacteria
  • Lots of nice features

Cons
  • Not multipurpose

If you’re looking for a hoover to solve your allergy problem then this is definitely it. It makes short work of any microbes in the air and, best of all, doctors love it!

Dirt Devil Scorpion SD20005 RED Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

Dirt Devil Scorpion Handheld Vacuum Cleaner, Corded, Small, Dry Hand Held Vac With Cord, SD20005RED, Red (Design Might Vary)

I’ve always been a fan of corded handheld vacuum cleaners when I can get them, and the Scorpion is one of the better ones. No waiting around for a charge; continuous cleaning when you need it.

The Devil is a pretty compact machine, weighing 3.75lbs. Not as light as other handheld vacuum cleaners, but nothing that will strain your back either.

It is also a powerful machine with 7 amps or 120 volts under its hood. Simple to use, its interface consists of an on/off button along with a release for its waste storage.

Its cord is 16 feet long, so around 5 meters. It’s quite long for a corded handheld and should make it a lot easier to use around the house. Still not as easy as a handheld though.

Pretty much anything that you can fit under the Dirt Devil’s nozzle, you can suck up.

Pros
  • Very simple to use
  • Lots of power for use

Cons
  • Missing the advanced features of its competitors
  • Corded, not as much maneuverability.

The Dirt Devil Scorpion could be called a workhorse. A simple, down-to-earth vacuum cleaner.

You can find it here.

Eureka RapidClean Pro Lightweight Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

Eureka RapidClean Pro Lightweight Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, High Efficiency Powerful Digital Motor LED Headlights, Convenient Stick and Handheld Vac, Essential, Blue

The Eureka RapidClean is different from a lot of the other vacuum cleaners on this list. For one, it’s a stick vacuum cleaner, so it isn’t quite as mobile.

But despite that, there are quite a lot of advantages to an upright hoover. Longer charge, better suction (usually), and generally more features.

The Eureka RapidClean can run for up to 40 minutes on a single charge and comes with a ton of attachments. It’s even cordless, so no messing around with wires. The Eureka is very light and maneuverable for a stick vacuum, so no problems there either.

Its attachments include headlights, a crevice tool, a dust cloth, and a bunch of other stuff.

It does come with a big price tag, however. Stick hoovers do tend to cost more, and this one is no exception. There have also been a few comments regarding its reliability in terms of suction power and build quality.

Most people love it, but there are a few points like those I mentioned above that people can’t get past. So be warned!

Pros
  • Wide range of attachments
  • Long charge

Cons
  • Price tag
  • Reliability issues

The reviews on the Eureka RapidClean tend to be great. There are people out there who love this machine, but there are also people out there who hate it. It comes at a price, but it offers great all-around cleaning and lots of attachments.

Dibea Bed Vacuum Cleaner

Dibea Bed Vacuum Cleaner with Roller Brush Corded Handheld, White

This is another mattress vacuum cleaner that focuses on getting allergens out of the air. You really would be surprised by how much your pillow and mattress soak up this sort of stuff.

So if you’re suffering from bad allergies, your bed is always the place to start. The Dibea will suck up all those allergens and pollen in the air.

The Dibea comes with a 300w motor- pretty powerful- and is more than capable of dealing with microbes in the air. It also has an enhanced UV light. Rozi claims that it is 20% better than its competitors.

Besides all that you get the usual features, such as a vibrating pad to stir up any loose material. You also get a brush to help with the clean-up.

Like all of these specialized hoovers, it was made with a very singular purpose in mind. It’s made to clean the air and your mattress of any dust mites and allergens.

It is not your standard hoover, and to get the best out of it, you really shouldn’t use it like one.

If you ever need reminding of that, just look at the price tag!

Pros
  • Better UV lamp than competitors
  • Strong motor

Cons
  • A little on the pricey side
  • A bit weighty

The Dibea Bed vacuum cleaner comes highly recommended. It has all the tools to do its job, and it does it well. It might just be the machine for you!

Dyson V6 Trigger Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

Dyson V6 Trigger - Cordless

The Dyson V6 is well known as a very powerful handheld vacuum cleaner. It’s also one of the smallest, and thus lightest, vacuum cleaners that Dyson offers.

First things first. The Dyson, when compared to other handheld vacuum cleaners, does come with a hefty price tag. Dyson is one of the most well-known vacuum cleaning brands out there, and that name does come with a price.

I think of this Dyson as the race car of the vacuum world, it even comes with a MAX setting that offers you even more power. The V6 can run for 20 minutes on a normal setting, and for only 6 minutes on MAX.

Whether or not this is a good thing is debatable, depending on how badly you want to clean your mattress I suppose.

The V6 might look awkward, but it’s actually pretty lightweight and comfortable. It weighs only 3.4 pounds, which is quite light when compared to some other handheld vacuum cleaners.

Pros
  • Lightweight
  • High Power

Cons
  • Expensive
  • Not the greatest battery life

If you’re looking to deal with some heavy stains and dirt, then the Dyson V6 trigger might be the machine for you. With its MAX setting and high power, it should be able to clean up any mess. Remember, watch out for that hefty price tag!

Here’s where you can take a look.

Iris IC-FDC1 Vacuum Cleaner

IRIS IC-FDC1 Cordless Mattress and Furniture Vacuum Cleaner, White

This is one of my favorite vacuum cleaners on the list. Better yet, it’s almost entirely designed to work on your mattress. Of course, you can use it on other similar materials, but it’s definitely more specialized. For instance, you’re not going to get great results using this vacuum cleaner on a carpet or rug.

This is one of the best handheld vacuum cleaners for getting rid of those oh so terrifying dust mites. Allergens, dust, and pollen will all be picked up by this bad boy.

The Iris IC-FDC1 claims a 20-minute runtime which should be more than enough time to give your mattress a clean. It does not boast the best power, although it does couple its suction with a vibrating pad to loosen up the dust.

It even has a bunch of fancy sensors which you probably don’t need, such as “dust sensors”. There’s even an indicator that lets you know how clean the surface you’re working on is.

Pros
  • Very specialized for mattresses
  • Great at picking up dust mites, pollen, etc.

Cons
  • Not great at doing anything else besides mattress cleaning
  • Low power

If you’re looking for something to clean your mattress and nothing else then this might be worth a look. Keep in mind, however, that you probably won’t be able to use it for much else. It’s so specialized that it might not be the right hoover for you!

Here’s where you can take a look.

RAYCOP LITE UV Sanitizing HEPA Allergen Vacuum

RAYCOP LITE UV Sanitizing HEPA Allergen Vacuum Effectively Removes Dust Mite Matters, Bacteria, Viruses and Pollen

The RAYCOP Mattress Vacuum cleaner is one of those vacuums designed for one job. Cleaning up your allergens! The RAYCOP is made to suck up all those allergens and bacteria from your bed and mattress.

The RAYCOP weighs only 4.29lbs, which is quite reasonable for this type of hoover. It also has a nice ergonomic design, so you should have no trouble carrying it.

It has a strong suction power which allows it to suck up anything it might come across. What’s great about this hoover, is that it can be used on lots of surfaces.

Carpets, rugs, mattresses, whatever you want really.

Thanks to its U.V lamp and HEPA filters, this product is very capable of creating an allergy-free home.

Pros
  • Lightweight thanks to the design
  • Versatile

Cons
  • Questionable Durability
  • Pricey

If you’re looking for a more durable ‘hayfever hoover’ then this could be a good pick. It’s a lightweight machine that can be used in lots of situations.

Take a look here.

Homasy Handheld Vacuum Cordless

Homasy Handheld Vacuum Cordless, 8Kpa Hand Vacuum with Powerful Cyclonic Suction, Portable Vacuum Cleaner with Long Lasting up to 30mins (Wet&Dry, 3H Charging) for Pet Hair, Dust,Gravel,Home Cleaning

The Homasy Handheld Vacuum cleaner is one of the best-reviewed cleaners on the market. It packs a huge amount of power under its hood with a 100-watt motor. You can be sure that any and all dirt will be sucked right up by that powerful engine.

You get 30 minutes of run time, with a charging time of 2-3 hours.

The Homasy weighs in at 3.52 pounds, meaning that it isn’t the lightest vacuum out there. You’re still unlikely to even notice it of course, but it’s worth thinking about.

It’s pretty standard when it comes to size and dimensions. You shouldn’t have any problems when it comes to storage.

For its power and battery, the Homasy Handheld comes in at a very reasonable price. You won’t need to break the bank here, and it’s a lot cheaper than many other vacuums with the same power.

A big bonus to the Homasy is that it’s actually not too loud. Hardly the most important point, but it’s definitely a plus, coming in at only 78dB.

Pros
  • Great Power
  • Reasonable Price

Cons
  • None that I can think of!

The Homasy handheld vacuum cleaner has to be one of the most recommended vacuum cleaners out there. I can’t dispute that claim, but what I can add is that it looks great! With a huge amount of power, decent battery life, and a cheap price tag! What’s not to love?

Check it out here!

Iris USA 596942 IC-FAC2 Vacuum Cleaner

IRIS USA 596942 IC-FAC2 Mattress and Furniture Vacuum Cleaner

This Iris vacuum cleaner is the second of its kind to make the list. In contrast to the other model, this is actually a corded vacuum cleaner.

Usually, I find that cordless models are so much easier to move around the house. But this Iris comes with a really long cable, so I don’t think you’ll have too much trouble with it.

Like with the other Iris model, you get all sorts of sensors with this one too. Dust level indicators will let you know exactly how much dust is left on the surface before you move on. This is actually a very handy feature for those of us with allergies. It should help cut those out of the equation.

It is a bigger machine than other cordless models, but it does have a powerful suction. It also has an unlimited run time, a big bonus from using corded models.

It’s been said that the Iris can be quite a loud vacuum cleaner to run, so no cleaning at night, that’s for sure. I’ve also been able to find a few reviews with complaints about inconsistent suction.

Pros
  • No need to charge
  • Handy sensors

Cons
  • Loud
  • Unreliable suction

Overall, this is a very good, multi-purpose vacuum cleaner. It makes great work of cleaning your mattress, and those sensors can really come in handy. Just be aware of the problems with noise and suction!

Here’s where you can find it!

Raycop RS2 UV Sanitizing HEPA

RAYCOP RS Pro | Handheld Allergen Vacuum Cleaner | Sanitizing UV Light | Kills Bacteria and Viruses | Removes Dust Mites | White

The Raycop RS2 UV handheld cleaner is definitely one of the more expensive units you can buy. It is also one of the most highly regarded cleaners that’s on the market, and it comes with a huge range of features.

The Raycop will suck up pretty much anything that it comes across. From allergens to dust mites, the Raycop will clean it all.

A vibrating pad stirs and loosens up any dirt from the mattress. It also comes with a HEMA rate filtration system, meaning that the U.S Department of Energy rates it as one of the best.

One of my favorite things about this product is that it comes with a UV lamp. What better than to expose and kill any bacteria or allergens that might be lurking between the sheets?

Along with all these features, the Raycop also comes with a host of extra attachments. You get a spare filter, a dust brush, a cloth, and even a stand.

There really aren’t too many bad things you can say about the Raycop.

Pros
  • A great host of features
  • Sucks up everything

Cons
  • A bit expensive

If you’re willing to eat the hefty price tag, the Raycop SV2 is one of the best purchases you can make. Great suction and a huge amount of features allow it to make short work of any problem.

This is where you can check it out if you’d like to take a look.

Sowtech Cordless Handheld Mattress Vacuum

Cordless Vacuum SOWTECH 6 in 1 Cyclonic Suction Lightweight Handheld Vacuum Cleaner with Stainless Steel Filter (Bagless) Rechargeable Lithium Ion - Red

Some people might be confused by my inclusion of the Sowtech Cordless on this list. The Sowtech is an extremely versatile vacuum cleaner. It might not be the best at everything, but the fact is that you can use it for everything.

As an example, the Sowtech Handheld mattress vacuum comes with six attachments. There are not many other vacuum cleaners that come with a set like that. The attachments range from a crevice tool to a specialized mattress cleaning brush.

It claims a 30 to 40-minute battery life, although one of the big negatives for this hoover is its charging time. You could be waiting up to six whole hours just for a single charge. Then again, at least you’re getting a decent charge out of it, unlike some of its competitors.

It’s also an extremely quiet machine, so no need to worry about waking up the neighbors. It has a decent amount of power, nothing special, but it is more than capable of dealing with any problem.

Pros
  • Versatile
  • Quiet

Cons
  • Long charge time
  • Jack-of-All trades

The Sowtech is an extremely versatile option. With six different attachments to choose from, it’s a definite all-arounder. It’s also an inexpensive option when compared with other handheld, cordless vacuum cleaners.

If you’re looking for a quiet, jack-of-all-trade mattress hoover, this might be the one for you.

Take a look here.

Shark WV201 WANDVAC Handheld Vacuum

Shark WV201 WANDVAC Handheld Vacuum, Lightweight at 1.4 Pounds with Powerful Suction, Charging Dock, Single Touch Empty and Detachable Dust Cup

The first thing you’ll notice about the Shark WV201 is its design. Obviously, it doesn’t look like your standard handheld vacuum cleaner. Looking different does have its advantages, however, and the Shark is very lightweight.

Easy to carry, and compact enough to store, you should have no problems finding a place to put your Shark. Weighing in at around 1.4 pounds, the only thing you’re in danger of here is forgetting that you’re carrying it.

It’s not quite as powerful as some of the other handheld vacuum cleaners that you’ll find on this list. Coming in at 15 watts and a pretty small waste compartment of 0.08 quarts, this may not be the best for cleaning up huge messes.

The Shark WV201 comes with a wide variety of attachments for getting into every nook and cranny. A multi-purpose tool for carpets and pet hair, it should help with cleaning your mattress. And a 2-in-1 combination tool with a duster/crevice brush should help out in any tight corners.

Pros
  • Lightweight
  • Great Attachments

Cons
  • Small waste compartment
  • Not as powerful as other cleaners.

The Shark WV201 WANDVAC handheld vacuum cleaner presents with a modern style. With its low weight, you won’t even notice that you’re waving it around.

Its lower power and small waste compartment, when compared to other handheld vacuum cleaners, are disadvantages. But power isn’t everything, and the Shark has no problems getting the job done.

Here’s where you can take a look.

ZesGood Handheld Vacuum Cordless

ZesGood Handheld Vacuum Cordless, Dustbuster 7000PA Powerful Suction with Rechargeable Hand Held Vacuum Cleaner 120W Cyclonic Motor, for Home and Car Cleaning

The ZesGood Handheld vacuum cleaner is a quality, high-powered machine. With a 120watt cyclonic motor, you get more than 7KPA to play around with. Perfect for hoovering up all those dust mites and allergens in your mattress.

The ZesGood has a runtime of around 25 minutes, which is decent but not the best in this area. With a 2 hour charge, however, you won’t need to wait long between sessions.

It weighs only 1.5 pounds, perfect for any long cleaning sessions. Even though it’s small and compact, it has a nicely sized 550ml dustbowl for waste.

It’s also a quiet machine, running at only 75dB, which makes it one of the quietest.

There have been questions about its ability to suck up large amounts of material at one time, so watch out for that. It also might need a check-up after consistent use over a long time, so reliability could be an issue.

Pros
  • Lightweight
  • Powerful

Cons
  • Reliability issues
  • Difficulty dealing with large messes.

The ZesGood is a nifty little piece of hardware. With its extremely powerful motor, it should have no trouble sucking up debris. Beware of giving it too much at one time however, you might clog it up.

It’s very lightweight, has a decent charge time, and a 550ml storage for waste. If you’re looking for something small and neat, this will do the trick.

This is where you can check it out!

VacLife Handheld Vacuum, Cordless

VacLife Handheld Vacuum, Hand Vacuum Cordless Rechargeable, Small and Portable with High Power and Quick Charge for Home and Car Cleaning - Black & Orange(VL189)

The VacLife Handheld vacuum cleaner is another powerful, deep cleaner. While generally marketed towards hoovering cars, I can’t see any reason why you can’t use it inside too. It has 12 volts.

Weighing in at 1.94 pounds you shouldn’t have any problem using it. While it isn’t as compact as some other hoovers, you shouldn’t have a problem finding a place to put it.

It claims a runtime of 30 minutes, which is better than some other high-powered hoovers out there. One of my favorite additions here is that of an LED light. It’s a flashlight on the end of your hoover, and I can think of a million reasons why that might come in handy.

The VacLife comes with lots of different attachments, such as a dust brush, an LED light, and a crevice tool. All very useful attachments for getting into those dark and dusty corners. Or even those lines on your mattress.

You even get a carry case, in case you might want to take your handheld vacuum cleaner on a trip.

Pros
  • Lightweight at 1.9 pounds
  • Great attachments

Cons
  • Not as compact as it could be
  • Less powerful than its rivals.

The VacLife Handheld cleaner comes highly reviewed, with recommendations from pretty much everybody. With its great attachments, you should have no problem cleaning with this vacuum. And with its case, you can take it everywhere!

Here’s where you can check it out.

Buyers Guide

Here you can find our decision criteria.

Which one should I buy?

There are tons and tons of vacuum cleaners that you can choose from on today’s market. Handheld vacuum cleaners and stick vacuums are some of the most common. They are also going to be the best suited for this job, so I would definitely stick to these two types.

Handheld, portable cleaners offer you a lot in one small package. They’re easy to move, easy to handle, and they’re very easy to store. They also have their problems of course.

They tend to have a low charge, less power, and it can be difficult to find replacement parts for them.

Stick vacuums are pretty much the opposite in every way. More power, more attachments, more vacuum for your buck. And they will be more expensive, so keep that in mind.

They also tend to be corded, and heavier than their handheld cousins so there are a lot of pros and cons either way.

Now, which one is best for you? There are a lot of different factors that you need to remember when buying a vacuum cleaner.

First of all, you need to be sure that you can store it. And secondly, you need to be sure that you’re going to actually use it!

There is no point splashing the cash on a really nice vacuum cleaner if you’re only going to use it once or twice. You will get more value for your money out of a smaller machine, and your wallet will definitely thank you.

Once you start looking at the biggest and best vacuum cleaners out there, the prices start to jump up a lot.

This might seem a bit obvious, but make sure to buy a vacuum cleaner that suits your needs. Most hoovers can be used in multiple ways.

There are very few that only work on just one thing, and the more versatile the hoover, the more value for your money.

Remember to always do your own research when it comes to choosing the right vacuum cleaner for your mattress. You never know what you might find!

Cleaning Your Mattress

Your vacuum will make cleaning your mattress a much easier process. But there is more that you can do to make your life easier and health better.

Airing it out

One of the best and most natural ways of keeping your mattress clean is to air it out. Even just keeping a window open a few hours a day will drastically help with any allergies you might have.

What I like to do is take my mattress outside, stand it up in the wind, and give it a good beating to make sure I get all that dust. Now, if you live in a city or a busy town, I expect you won’t be able to do that.

You could always give it a try, and if people start looking at you weirdly you can just direct them to this article. But really, airing out your mattress can do wonders.

You would be very, very surprised to know just how much dirt, dust, and debris collect on your mattress after a while. Not only will your mattress feel fresher, but it will be fresher.

You’ll also get a better night’s sleep knowing that you are sleeping on a clean mattress.

Rotate!

Mattresses are usually heavier than they look, so maybe get some help for this one. Something that everyone forgets, or never thinks of in the first place, is the wear and tear of a mattress.

We use them every day for long periods of time, so of course, they’re going to get damaged. I know that I didn’t think of this at all for a long time.

Knowing how to keep your mattress in tip-top shape is really important. You’ll get a longer lifespan for one, and you won’t have to lug it down the stairs as often to exchange it with a new one.

You might have seen those indentations on your mattress. That’s an outline of you of course, along with whoever else sleeps there. One way you can avoid wearing out the springs, and wearing out the mattress, in general, is to rotate it!.

Most mattresses are built from the bottom up these days so turning them upside-down might not be the best idea. But rotating the mattress 180 degrees will ensure that you aren’t lying on the same spot the whole time.

This way you’ll avoid that shallow rut that can appear after long use, and you’ll be more comfortable too.

A bit of common sense

This might be a pretty obvious one. But stop jumping on your bed! Now obviously, I don’t really mean jumping. I mean that big sigh you let out when you get home from work as you just fall into your bed.

Or that little hop you do to get into bed. There are a lot easier ways to get into bed, and they definitely won’t hurt your mattress as much.

You could always blame everyday wear and tear. But you might be surprised to know how quickly this sort of stuff wears out the springs.

A mattress should be treated like any other piece of furniture in your home. If you want to keep it around for a long time, you shouldn’t jump on it.

Bending

Another thing that I’ve learned is that you should be careful when you’re moving it.

Most mattresses aren’t actually made to bend, surprisingly enough. So when you’re trying to stuff that new mattress into your SUV or the back of the truck, you’re actually damaging it.

Technically, you shouldn’t even be lifting these things at all. Not only are they quite heavy, but all that twisting and turning can do real damage to a mattress.

Better to leave it to the professionals, if you can. I always get my mattresses delivered, and a great way to make friends with your delivery man is to help him get it to the right place.

You can seriously injure your back if you aren’t careful when lifting a mattress. The large weight and surface area means that if you aren’t careful, it could slip and do both you and your home some damage.

So when you’re thinking about moving that new mattress you bought, ask yourself a question. Can you really live it down at Thanksgiving when your loved ones find out exactly how you hurt your back? Moving a mattress?

I know I couldn’t.

Keeping your mattress protected

Today’s mattresses aren’t designed to get wet or dirty. Assuming that sleeping with dust mites freaks you out, you also shouldn’t have to worry about dirt.

But a proper mattress protector will actually help against all these problems. It will also extend the life of your mattress quite a bit, protecting it against all sorts of things.

Mattress protectors are much, much easier to clean than an actual mattress. They are also cheaper, lighter, and a lot harder to damage.

Oils and perspiration, not to mention food and drink, will actually seep in and start to break down the fibers of your bed. So simply sleeping in your bed without a mattress protector is damaging your bed.

Having a bed without a mattress protector is like having a phone without a cover. You’re taking needless risks with a very expensive object

Cheap covers will do the job if you need them to. But if you want to go the extra mile and get something a little pricier, they’ll definitely feel better when you are under the covers.

Using your Vacuum

Giving your mattress a good vacuum every once and a while is very important. Mattresses are always full of dust and debris, not to mention pollen. If you live with hayfever this is one of the best places to start getting rid of those allergies.

Now, for one of those disgusting, I mean amazing facts. Up to 10 million dust mites could be living on your mattress at any one time. Dust mites feed on dead skin cells, which is why they are such big fans of living in your bed.

They are also one of the main reasons that your mattress has an expiration date. So always remember to check! I’m not entirely sure what would happen if you kept your mattress too long, but I’m also sure that I don’t want to know!

Besides the obvious health hazards such as dust mites, your mattress really can soak up dust from the air. If you’ve ever given your mattress a good beating, you’ll have seen the puffs of dust that come off of it.

It might seem like an impossible job, but vacuuming your mattress really is worth it. Apart from the nightmarish consequences (probably) of living with 10 million dust mites, you’ll hoover up all that pesky pollen and dust.

So always remember to check!

All in all, it will definitely get you a better night’s sleep.

So get that vacuum cleaner out!

Remember to clean!

The most important thing to do with your mattress is to remember to clean it. We make our beds every day, but do we clean our mattresses?

It’s recommended that we clean our mattresses at least once a year. I like to do mine twice, once at the beginning of the year, and once more in the middle.

There’s no harm in cleaning your mattress as many times as you want. Frankly, the more you clean it, the fresher it’s going to be. It will probably last longer too.

Deep cleaning your mattress with a dedicated mattress vacuum cleaner will really kill off those allergens in your room. If you suffer from bad allergies or hay fever, then your mattress is the place to start.

Always remember to clean your mattress. It will save you money, illness and what’s more, it’ll look a lot better too.
